I arrived in NYC from Drama School in London on a scorching August day with $50 in my pocket. A month sleeping on my
friend's couch in the Ansonia Hotel, a two month sublet in Brooklyn Heights finally landed me in my own studio at 428 W 46th st
in Hell’s Kitchen; my home for the next fifteen years. Survival bartending jobs in local theater establishments, memberships in
The Riverside Shakespeare Co., The Mint Theater Co. and bit parts in soaps and film sustained me till I began my teaching career
having completed a certification to teach The Alexander Technique.
I was offered jobs in academia, SUNY Purchase, Rutgers and NYU. I was privileged to teach on these professional conservatory faculties amongst accomplished directors, actors and designers. I gained much during this time including the pleasure of contributing
to the growth of talented young actors, many working professionally today. Managing to keep my hat in the artistic circle while teaching I was able to do several downtown plays. Then marriage, the move to Brooklyn, home ownership and the birth of our son
shifted my life. Always moving forward I found an artistic home at the Barrow Group where I’ve been ensconced for sometime.
During these years I also pursued martial arts training for personal and professional development. The end of academia arrived
and I was free to audition full time again. I signed with an agent and within two months, wham, Covid. For sanity I worked for
the US Census thru the second half of 2020 being deployed to central Georgia for eight weeks; a profoundly enlightening experience.
The pandemic has taught me many things; chief among them is that” life is too short”. As enthralled as ever with “the smell of the greasepaint and the roar of the crowd” and the belief that “All the worlds a stage…” I’ve fully embraced the pursuit of acting work. I’ve done fifteen short films, a regional stage project since April of 2021. Some fifty online play readings with my incredible group from Barrow maintained connection and balance. My current objectives comprise the full scope of on-camera and stage with the realistic desire to do good work with good people and "get paid". What the world brings next will certainly be intriguing, but whatever comes
will be met with zeal and an artist's creative energy. In short, I’m having a fantastic time !
Below are some “good old days" pic’s of my first NYC neighborhood.
Theatrical Project Pics coming ! Lots of scanning to do

1) Hell’s Kitchen, St Clement’s Theater, directly across the street
from my building at 428. I saw many plays there. Next to 428 is Michael-Palmer Playground
where Paul Simon’s “Me and Julio” music video was shot. (see link below)
